Reflecting back on 2025 and all the amazing trips and vegan food I’ve enjoyed.
Lulea
In February, I had a trip to Lulea, Sweden (for Melodifestivalen) which was as cold, but fun, as ever. It’s always cosy sitting in a café for Fika and a huge bonus when they have vegan cakes.
Espresso House is one of the larger chains, and early in the year running up to Pancake Day (Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday, Fettisdag), they have vegan semlor available.

Highly recommend these cakes! Inside, is an almond paste which is the best part. It’s the comfort food you need when surrounded by snow and ice.

Stockholm
In March, I took a trip to Stockholm, Sweden (also for Melodifestivalen!). The vegan options are much better here than in the North.

Our favourite spot for a Fika is Green Praline. It’s a little out from the centre but very worth the trip and fully vegan.

The Princess Cakes and Opera Cakes are delicious.
For an evening meal, a trip to Holy Cow is a must. It isn’t fully vegan but has a large selection to choose from. I always used to go for tikka before turning vegan and had never found it veganised at a restaurant until here.

If you’re looking for something to do in the capital, visiting all of the beautiful metro stations is fun. I would recommend doing it during the day, on a weekday, to avoid the busy periods.

London
I travel occasionally to London for musicals, each time trying out some delicious food. Some of the highlights of the capital include:
The Fields Beneath, Kentish Town

Not a fully vegan place but has a few options to choose from. Close to the theatres so a perfect pre-theatre meal.

Vegan Camp Out
Our first trip to Vegan Camp Out and so much choice!

The whole weekend was amazing, being surrounded by people who think similarly and share that one common belief of animals deserving to live without abuse.
We didn’t travel so much this year, we went to Sweden a few times to see family there and that was our holidays. We have definitely enjoyed lots of vegan food though.
Hopefully many more trips in 2026.
